10 May Prepare For The 2030 Ban On Petrol and Diesel Cars With EV Charging
Green peace, along with many other organisations, have been campaigning against polluting vehicles for nearly three decades, making the 2030 ban on petrol and diesel cars a long time coming. Originally the government committed to phasing out new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, but they have now brought back the timeline by 10 years. The 2030 Legislation Net-Zero is part of the PM’s 10-point plan for ‘green industrial revolution’, and looks to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and reduce carbon emissions, in hopes of tackling climate change. The petrol and diesel car ban is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve local air quality with less diesel vehicles producing higher levels of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, which have been linked to increased risk of respiratory illnesses, lung cancer, heart disease and many other conditions.
